Robert was born at Latrobe, PA, on 1 April 1921. He was the son of Robert Porter Long Jr. and Anna Margaret Eamigh. Robert served in the military on 22 August 1942. He married Violet Marie Metz at Lutheran Church, Winchester, VA, on 29 September 1947. Robert died on 27 January 1992 at Latrobe, PA, at age 70. His body was interred after 27 January 1992 at Latrobe, PA, at Unity Cemetery.
