John Henry Mitchell II was born on 2 November 1817 at Morgan County, Georgia. He was the son of Thomas Hardaway Mitchell and Ruth (Ruthny) Tillery. John Henry Mitchell II died on 21 December 1896 at Upsher County, Texas, at age 79.
