     (an unknown value). James was born at Tuscrawas County, Ohio, on 1 May 1822. He was the son of William Iler and Mary Waggoner. He married Sarah Foster at Elmhurst, Illinois, in 1845. James's occupation: Founder - Iowa Pilot Newspaper at Madison County, Iowa, in 1856. He married Sylvia Sophronia Reed at Lancaster County, Ohio, on 9 December 1861. He was inducted into the military on 3 November 1862. He was released from active duty on 10 December 1863. James's occupation: Postmaster at Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, in 1878. James died on 10 December 1905 at Daughter Kate Stahn's home, 3 Miles South of Pleasant Dale, Seward Co., Nebraska, USA, at age 83. He was buried after 10 December 1905 at Pleasant Dale Cemetery, Pleasant Dale, Seward Co., Nebraska, USA.
